Ruta Altiplano was born from over 20 years of experience guiding travelers through the Andean territories of Northern Chile and southern Peru. Founded by Santiago Tamani Huentelemu, a professional guide specialized in nature, adventure, and cultural tourism, the company is rooted in deep territorial knowledge and field-based learning. Each journey is designed to be authentic, safe, and respectful of the natural and cultural environment.
As a descendant of the Mapuche people and through close collaboration with Aymara communities of the Altiplano, Ruta Altiplano embraces an intercultural vision of tourism. This dual cultural heritage shapes a mission focused on creating meaningful encounters between travelers and indigenous territories, fostering local development with identity and purpose.
