DAY 1: FROM ARICA – SOCOROMA – PUTRE
08:00 AM Pick-up from your accommodation. From the coast, the journey ascends through the Lluta Valley, where the Giant and Eagle geoglyphs stand out—ancestral expressions that reveal intense caravan activity between the Altiplano and the coast.
We stop for a panoramic view of the impressive Lluta Valley, then continue to the Quebrada de Cardones Natural Monument to observe the iconic Candelabro Cactus. Upon reaching the Copaquilla Gorge, we observe the pre-Andean desert and a pukara (pre-Inca fortress).
We continue toward Lauca National Park, where we may observe vizcachas, vicuñas, and ancient llareta plants. We then reach Lake Chungará at 4,500 meters above sea level to admire the imposing Parinacota Volcano, enjoy a short walk, and observe local wildlife.
We visit the picturesque village of Parinacota, one of the most representative settlements of the northern Chilean Altiplano, with its colorful church. Picnic lunch.
Return to the village of Putre.

DAY 2: FROM PUTRE – LAS VICUÑAS NATIONAL RESERVE – SALAR DE SURIRE – VOLCÁN ISLUGA NATIONAL PARK – COLCHANE
Breakfast
08:30 AM Departure toward the Lauca Biosphere Reserve, heading to the Salar de Surire Natural Monument, a unique ecosystem in northernmost Chile. In route, we cross the Las Vicuñas National Reserve, where this emblematic camelid species is protected, passing through the village of Guallatire and its stone-and-adobe church surrounded by wetlands.
We arrive at a RAMSAR wetland, an ideal habitat for flamingos to live and breed. We enjoy a 1-hour walk amidst the landscapes and wildlife of the salt flat. We then continue to the Polloquere Hot Springs, where you can relax with a natural bath in a pristine environment. Picnic lunch.
We continue south, crossing into the Tarapacá Region and entering Volcán Isluga National Park, home to an active volcano rising to 5,500 m.a.s.l. (18044 ft.)
On the way to Colchane, we stop at the village of Isluga to admire its beautiful colonial-era church. We then continue to Colchane.
06:00 PM Arrival in Colchane. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: FROM COLCHANE – CARIQUIMA – HUARA – IQUIQUE
Breakfast
08:00 AM Departure toward the city of Iquique, passing through the village of Cariquima, known for its giant columnar cactus. We descend through the Tarapacá Gorge to visit the Giant of Atacama, the largest anthropomorphic geoglyph in South America. Lunch.
We visit the Santiago Humberstone Saltpeter Works, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that reflects the economy and society of the early 20th century in the Atacama Desert. We then continue to the city of Iquique.
05:00 PM Arrival in Iquique and transfer to your accommodation.
